Autopilots

The DFC90 is Avidyne’s new digital autopilot system that is designed specifically for Entegra-equipped Cirrus aircraft.

The DFC90 adds the precision of an attitude-based flight control system with Avidyne’s innovative, safety-enhancing features such as Flight Envelope Protection.

This Single-Axis autopilot system utilizes S-Tec's proven technology and is a true, rate-based system, deriving roll axis control inputs from its electric turn coordinator. Rate based autopilots have inherent reliability and performance benefits over attitude-based autopilots.

This system requires ZERO additional panel space. Programmer, computer, annunciators and servo amplifier are entirely contained within turn coordinator case. Proven building block design allows Altitude Hold to be added later to become a System 30.

This two-axis autopilot combines Altitude Hold with the roll axis functionality of the System Twenty. It is designed to provide an economical solution for aircraft owners who need Altitude Hold, but don't want the additional functions of pitch command, vertical speed control or GS coupling. Independent system does not require interfacing to the altimeter or atti- tude gyro; derives all input from solid state absolute pressure transducer and accelerometer. Compact, remote-mounted pitch computer and amplifier.

The S-Tec System 40 features a separate turn coordinator and programmer/computer. Includes turn command up to 90% standard rate turn, VOR/localizer/back course Intercept and tracking, and GPS tracking. Heading pre-select is optional by adding a heading DG or HSI. Fits standard 3ATI hole.

The SYSTEM 50 Autopilot provides all of the features of System 40, but with the additional feature of altitude hold. The system Programmer/Annunciator/Computer unit utilizes the same roll axis circuitry as System 40, plus an accelerometer for short-term pitch axis stabilization, and automatic interruption of altitude hold in severe turbulence. Pitch axis signal inputs are derived from a reliable solid state absolute pressure transducer and the accelerometer, not the artificial horizon gyro.

The S-Tec Model 55X is a pure rate-based two-axis autopilot offering you smooth precise, dependable performance. Combining the programmer, computer, annunciator, and servo amplifier functions into one compact panel mount unit, the System 55X is the first S-Tec autopilot system designed specifically to be integrated into the aircraft radio panel with other avionics. It is also the first S-Tec system to feature control wheel steering.

The System 60-1 is a full function single-axis autopilot, which includes heading mode, VOR/LOC intercepts and tracking, LOC back course intercept and tracking, flag warning, course deviation warning, and three level automatic radio coupler gain scheduling. ST-901 GPSS converter is optional. The System 60-1 requires a compatible heading system, which is not included in the base price. The 60-1 is compatible with various heading systems and HSIs -- call for compatibility information.

Building block concept allows system upgrade to a System 60-2 with the “Mod Kit 60-2”.

The S-Tec System 60-2 is a two axis roll and pitch autopilot that features a separate turn coordinator, programmer, and roll and pitch computers. The System 60-2 intercepts and tracks VOR/localizer/back course and glide slope, tracks GPS, and has vertical speed commands for climb and descent control. Heading pre-select is optional by adding a heading DG or HSI.

The System 65 is a two-axis roll and pitch autopilot which includes heading mode, VOR/LOC/LOC back course intercept and tracking, glide slope capture and track, vertical speed command for climb and descent control, altitude hold, automatic elevator pitch trim, and VOR/LOC GS off course deviation warning. Options include ST-901 GPSS Converter and ST-360 Altitude Selector / Alerter. Autotrim is not available on some aircraft models; check STC list for approvals. The System 65 is compatible with various heading systems, HSIs, and flight directors -- call for compatibility information.

S-Tec Automatic Trim option is available on the System FiftyFiveX, 60-2, or 60PSS and provides automatic elevator trim follow-up when the pitch axis of the autopilot is engaged. A control wheel mounted manual electric trim command switch is provided for electric trim operation when the autopilot is not used.
